Wesley L Stewart was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. Primarily a three-dimensional artist, he also creates art across many disciplines. His interest in sculpture, especially metalwork, began when working for the family business – Stewart Sheet Metal. Wesley currently teaches Art Appreciation for East Georgia State College’s Augusta campus. 


He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Augusta State University in Augusta, Ga. After graduation, Wesley spent some time in Italy and working for the family business before returning to finish his education. He received a Master of Fine Arts – emphasis in Sculpture - at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.


His artwork can be found at local establishments in Augusta, Ga. such as Frog Hollow Tavern and Farmhaus Burgers. His outdoor, public sculptures can be seen on the campus of the University of North Georgia, Dahlonega, Ga., and in the downtown areas of Lakeland, FL and Kissimmee, FL. His work encompasses both linear and planar aspects, incorporating color to accentuate specific areas of the work or to the surrounding area where it is placed.
